Warehouse Racking Plastic Pallet

Warehouse Racking plastic pallets, made of injection moulded plastic, are increasingly found in a greater number of warehouses and most of them are used for racking. They have certain pros and cons compared to wooden pallets which are cheaper.

First, the rackable plastic pallets are around half the weight of wooden pallets with the same characteristics therefore it will improve its efficiency at work. A second advantage is that they are the easiest type to clean as they are made from plastic and many plastic pallets comes with hygienic design, something that is highly valued in the food and pharmaceutical industry in particular.

Plastic pallets can be coloured and the standard color is blue and green, and therefore personalised for each user to make them easier to locate and control and improve the efficiency. The one time injection plastic pallets are also more robust and durable, lasting approximately ten times longer than wooden equivalents, and do not suffer as much from the inevitable blows that occur during handling, so even thought plastic pallets are more expensive, on long run, it’s cheaper than wood pallets you have to change them many times.

However, plastic pallets also have disadvantages. To start with, they are more likely to become deformed when the load is very high. At the time of beginning to use plastic pallets, they were also more expensive than wooden ones.
